Today, October 13th, 2009 marks the 2nd anniversary of my marriage. I can't believe it has been two years since I united with my love for life and became his wife. I know for a fact that I have married the best man their is: who cares for me, loves me, provides for me, and encourages me. Year 2 went so so so fast, like 10 times faster than year one.
Again, ouir anniversary has been unconventional. Last year Nick worked late, we drove down to Outback to eat dinner. Then we bought Nick shoes-at which time he got a migraine, threw up, and went to bed at 8pm.
This year, I woke up at 6am because Nick goes to Riverside on Tuesday and was getting ready. He came into the room saying that our water pressure was out because the water main was gushing water into the street. I had woken up to the sound of "rain" and was surprised to see the sidewalk and road engulfed in water. So, at 6:15am we both packed up stuff for showers and our day and went to my parents to get ready. Then, Nick drove to Riverside and stayed there all day until 8:30pm. Meanwhile, I worked during the day and had to go to class at 6:30. I didn't get home until after 10pm. Nick bought me Toblerone chocolate and a chocolate orange and we shared a piece of Toblerone while watching House. He crashed on the couch shortly after the show ended and is snoring peacefully as I type this. Poor guy.
One of these years we will have a typical romantic anniversary, I am sure of it! Just with my being a full time student and Nick working so hard for our family it isn't possible right now.
Sweetheart, Nicholas, Love... You are amazing and I love you with all that I am. Thank you for standing by me and loving me with all of my flaws. I look forward to 99 more years with you, let's do this! :o)
Love you prince,
Love Heather
Hey guys! Heather here. :o) It is currently 3:30 in the morning and I am still up doing homework for my saturday class which STARTS in 4 hours and 30 minutes... that means I have to leave in 3 hours and 30 minutes for it...which means I need to get up in 2 hours 30 minutes. Yeah, I have concluded it is a no-sleep night (It has been a long time since one of these). So, taking a break from my oh so fun (NOT) DAP observation write-up, I thought I would let you know what we did for date night on Friday, 4/24/09.
I don't know if you know this, but there is an international honors society for the community college level called Phi Theta Kappa. I was invited to join the organization because of my GPA at Palomar, and since it is a lifetime membership, I accepted the offer. Friday night was the induction ceremony so Nick and I went to it as our "date night" adventure. The ceremony itself was nothing to write home about. I will post a video when I have more time (short one, I promise) but basically I said the oath, blew out a candle, signed my name in their book, and got a carnation. That was the process to get inducted. Now, I know there were specific meanings for all those things but since it is 3:30am and my mind is running off of Mountain Dew I don't have a clue what they are. The induction part of the ceremony ended and we played a game of Jepordy before we were dismissed (an hour early!).
Nick and I hit up the Old Spaghetti Factory on the way home for some AMAZING dinner! I had a half/half pasta dish with half mazithra cheese and half white clam sauce. Nick had half ravioli half spaghetti. We both were too full to finish so we took home about half of our dishes. They feed you SO much there... like we got soup or salad (I got salad and Nick got soup), warm bread, the meal itself, spamoni ice cream, and coffee. We also ordered italian cream sodas and got to take home 2 special 40th anniversary edition glasses. They have changes the glasses since I took home my last one. That just shows how often I go there!
After dinner we came home (got home about 10pm) and I have been doing homework since. Ah, the life of a college student. :o) My husband is peacefully sleeping and I wish I were with him. Oh well, there is always tomorrow right?
That's all for now!

Heather fights a particularly stubborn earthworm while trying to get him out of the dirt and into a science experiment.
Enjoy!

ETA: Thanks sweetie, for showing my true bravery and how dorky I look while making science activities for preschoolers. Story of my life!
